Baby Signs - Introduction to Sign LAnguage

An introduction to Sign Language for child (6 months – 18 months) and caregiver. Designed to assist caregivers in supporting the language development in hearing children, adults will learn key principles that will help maximize the success of signing with their child. New and experienced signers will benefit from this 6 week class where participants will not only learn signs but experience ways through music, play, and everyday moments to incorporate sign language into daily routines.  There are many benefits to teaching babies sign language, such as:

  • Sign language provides the ability to communicate earlier than speech
  • Earlier communication can provide psychological benefits, such as enhanced  confidence + self-esteem
  • Learning sign language aids in speech development and language skills
  • Teaching sign language may increase your child’s visual and attention skills
  • Signing with your baby is a wonderful bonding experience

Beth Anspach - Certified Instructor

Beth Anspach, CDCI, is a Music Therapist, Licensed Kindermusik Educator with the distinction Maestro in Masterful Teaching, mom of 3, and the only Certified Conscious Discipline Instructor in the Northeast!  She is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Therapy. Beth has been using Conscious Discipline with her own children and in her classroom for the past 12 years.  Beth is currently offering a variety of discipline classes to parents and educators as well as Kindermusik classes for ages birth - 7 years.
